Integrative counselling
Why counselling?
Maybe life has always been a struggle: perhaps you have just hit a rough patch and need a helping hand: or maybe you feel you have no escape from old habits and old hurts, and long for something to change.
I offer a confidential, non-judgemental and safe place, where you can talk freely, explore what is troubling you, and work towards finding solutions; and I offer warmth, authenticity and empathy to support you, as a unique individual, as you look for a new way forward.
I have a particular interest in helping young people and their parents to navigate the choppy waters of twenty-first century life. However, all are welcome in the counselling room, regardless of race, creed, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation or lifestyle.
I have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling from Iron Mill College in Exeter. I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and also a Registered Member of the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC).
I have additional training in emotion coaching: the lasting physical, psychological and emotional effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs); working with eating disorders; supporting bereaved children; and working with boarding school issues, both current and historic. I am also a qualified facilitator for the University of Melbourne's Tuning into Teensparenting programme.
I currently work with teenagers in a local academy school, and also with parents of younger children at two primary schools in South Somerset.
