Clinical Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is an ancient therapeutic method which uses essential plant oils in conjunction with massage, acupressure, compresses and inhalations, to promote health and healing.

Well known in Dynastic Egypt and the Classical World and revitalised in the 20th Century by R. M. Gattefosse, Maragret Maury and Dr Jean Valnet, the essence of flowers, barks, trees and roots are the basis of a therapy which though gentle, can effectively heal both the mind and body.

The plant oils used in aromatherapy penetrate the skin through osmosis and are assimilated by the internal organs to promote healing of the whole body, from skin to mind. Aromatherapy is a gentle yet effective holistic therapy, particularly suited to the stresses and strains of modern living.

Conditions which may be helped by Aromatherapy are many and varied, for example:

Acute and some emotional problems may move quite quickly, while chronic cases and physical problems usually take longer to treat - since they have taken longer to manifest themselves in the body they may take longer to move.
